We have Qualified and Experienced Technicians on our staff available for hire and can offer competitive Recording studio packages and / or rates for
Engineer only hire, in all live or Studio situations

James Brown, our Chief sound Engineer, achieved a Btec national (distinction) in music technology
he is a grade 6 guitarist, industry standard advanced level Pro Tools operator
and is presently completing his music production degree at York St Johns university
having taken time out to test his skills onboard a cruise liner. he is once more available on dry land either as a producer or engineer, for complete recording projects, live Band tours, or one off performances.

We now offer you the opportunity to Record at DPS Studio in Leeds for their normal rates, but with James at the controls

A note from James

First and foremost i'm a big record fan, listening to music is where we all started out, but at an early age I realised that I wasn't satisfied with simply taking the next step and making music, I wanted to record it and realised that the person with the real power to shape the overall 'sound' of a recording is the producer, and that's where I am today

Whether you want to record a single track, an EP, or an album, from Jazz to Punk and everything in between you'll find me enthusiastic and professional, guaranteed.

As a musician myself I have experience and knowlege of what goes on 'both sides of the glass' and can empathise with musicians who feel that they lose controll of their 'sound' in the studio. I don't have a set approach when entering the studio with a new band, I keep an open mind and do what is best for you and your music, my main focus and aim is to draw the best out of a band using my own techniques and skills to ensure a song 'feels' right.

Rates vary depending on the project, but if you are working to a budget let me know and we can work within it, Please feel free to get in touch, discuss your project and get a quote.

Recording and Mastering

We have formed a close relationship with DPS Studios located in Leeds 27

and can offer a complete recording package from start to finish.

We recommend that you book rehearsal time prior to your recording session (preferably the day before) A full days recording and mixing at the facility

and allow us to finalize your recording back at our private studio.

With the advent of DAWs (digital audio workstations) many bands and artistes chose to record themselves, this is after all how James started out and is not to be discouraged, however the overall sound of the finished product can rely largely on the finalizing stage, the tones and dynamics of tracks often recorded in different places and at different times requires skillfull handling to take on a uniform sound (and volume)

Therefore we also offer a seperate Mixing and Mastering service, we charge £15 per track for mixing

£12 for mastering a single track, and £7 for all susequent tracks

Mixing and mastering together is £20 per track

Help and Guidance

Maybe you want to know how to wire up your PA system matching speakers to amplifiers, or need advice on how to set your Graphic Equalizers (Ring out your system) to get maximum power and volume out of your gear, or maybe you don't know what you want, all this is new to you and you need advice and guidance. Get in touch and book a session with James our chief Sound Engineers who will come along to your rehearsal space or studio and answer all your questions.

Front of House or Monitor Mix

If it isn't advice you need but simply an experienced sound engineer to man your mixing desk for a one off special gig or on a regular basis, or someone to train up your own would be engineer/roadie, get in touch and we'll arrange a meeting to discuss what you need and how we can help
